Alistair Kerr (BA Hons)

Alistair began making films when he was 15 years old using antiquated video equipment at school. His first commission was a documentary about the dangers of glue-sniffing, made at a rehabilitation centre in Putney. After graduating from Middlesex Polytechnic, he worked as a personal assistant to an agency producer in Soho and made films for Cable London Television - a public access channel on the first cable TV network in the country. From there he started freelance editing, working at London Electronic Arts, where he also spent some time as acting facilities Manager. Alistair started First Light Video in 1993 as a post-production company which also provided training in non-linear editing and the transition from analogue to digital. His first broadcast television work was a magazine series called 'Mind the Gap' for LWT in 1994.

Since then, Alistair has edited hundreds of television shows and provided motion graphics and title sequences for many more. In 2005 whilst working for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office film unit, Alistair began directing training films and dramatic reconstructions as well as editing. Since then, First Light Video has become a full production company with many corporate productions made entirely in-house.
